It shouldn't be vibrating unless one of the blades is broken or it's getting loose around the bearing or bushing. Or the fan blade is hitting an obstruction like a dangling wire.

There's not much maintenance you can do with a fan. Sometime you can add a drop of oil to the center hub to quiet it down for awhile but it's probably time to replace it.

Hello, DAVEINCAPS, thank you for your reply. That makes a lot of sense. I shall pass that info along to my son.

My son is about 20& a1/2, but knows a lot about his computer(and a lot of other things besides that), and so I give him a whole lotta credit! For example, His Dell was making a loud noise one day. He works, so he couldn't do anything until he came home. But, when he checked it out, he knew pretty much off the bat that it was because of a bad power supply.

Anyways, it isn't vibrating now, and hasn't been for several hours, but he did order a new fan.

Thanks so much for your help! Take care & God Bless!

If removing the heat sink along with the fan then you must clean off all thermal paste or pad and apply new thermal paste according to the technique recommended for your type processor.
