... @ bootup tap either <F1> or the <F2> <key> to enter your bios

... disable or alter the Pxe (Lan) in the booting order sequence!

... important: save settings on exit of bios.

"then it shuts down. I press the power button again, then It make a long 'beeeeeeeep"...will that disconnect my internet? will that harm my pc? and in the middle of the loud booting thing..."

... so that loud beeeeeeeep is'nt just a "one off" then?

... the bios booting alteration "thing" is all that it alters "boot to Lan" usually for remote access used for network installation of the os.

... at this stage I have no idea about your "beeeep" but it tells me there is something wrong! Here are some tests you could try!

"...so I click the power button..." which more than likely "bios shocked" the settings.

... alter the bios dates if scrambled.

computereater backup any important data you have immediately. Sounds like you are about to lose the drive or other major system component.

What mavis007 suggested would have no effect on your internet access. It was just a way of getting rid of the ethernet boot error which is the last device the bios trys before it gives up trying to boot in most configurations.

Fact you got it in the first place says that at that bootup the bios did not see your drive and could not boot it.

... no "beeeep" I hope!

... when you say slow do you mean that it is slow starting-up?

... slow responding? ... how much ram do you have?

... [press] windows logo flag <key> + <pause>

... how much ram is displayed there?

... just checking that it's ok after the "shock"

... download (freeware) click >> Starter this tool is worth having! ... Screenshots

... open/run it then click the "startups" (tab) in left pane click the word "Registry"

... in right pane you can uncheck items that startup when "windows" does. If you're not sure which to disable do a Google search or post back here!

... you'd notice quite a lot of difference if you upgraded your ram with another 512MB stick of ram

... if its scrambled the cmos battery (watch type) on motherboard may need replacing.

I cannot possibly replace the motherboard! Besides 2 things. 1. My other computer would need a new motherboard FIRST... I it burnt from when It got struck by lightning... I still works, It is just crazy.=D 2. Why wouldn't I buy another computer instead? I got this computer used from a home school... and I got it a few months ago.
