John
Thanks , but now I cannot open your web link or any in outlook express when I click on the links in my emails,It locks up. I have reinstalled internet explorer 8 but still won't open links, may have to live with it, as causing stress. thanks again, Trev

The hotfix from MS might fix it but you have to contact MS to get it:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/828133

Mostly this sort of thing is sorted with updates. Are you using XP SP3?

One other thing you could try. Type this in the Run box and hit Enter:
regsvr32 Msoe.dll

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Yes using Xp with service pack 3 , have located the hot Fix but I am waiting for my son to deal with when he visits as I am a bit worried about using it, thanks again but everything else is working fine for now .

The reason I asked about SP3 is that sometimes that fixes issues - obviously not in this case. Nice work finding the hot fix - it should be quite safe to use (and can probably be uninstalled if the need arises) but whether or not it fixes the problem remains to be seen. We'll be watching this post.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
