Lenovo T430- has worked fine for a year. error message is " you need to format the disk drive before you can use it." I have 4 different Sd cards that all were working fine 3 days ago. Now this is the error? SD drive no good anymore or is it software issue? please help
Try repairing the partition on the SD card by using Easeus Partition Recovery. Get it from the link below. Your problem is usually caused by improperly removing the drive. You should always use the "safely remove" icon in the tray by the clock.
Yes, usually that means that the SD card has completely failed or is very close to. If there is important data on it, try downloading Recuva to see if you can recover any files off of it. Is this issue with a single SD card or every SD card you insert? You've been helped by a 15 year old.

If you have a spare SD card what happens when you format it?
If that then works maybe it was some passing software glitch.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
Here is a way to recover your files & then format, using Partition Find and Mount.

Another thing to check is that you have the latest drivers in the Camera and Card Reader section.
Only do that section, if everything else is working, leave them alone.
