So how did you get xp installed on it then?

I wouldn't say you were stuck. All you need to do is fit a cd drive to it - they are dirt cheap these days. I cannot imagine how anyone uses a PC now without any means of external file transfer.

You can buy a CD-rom drive for less than the price of a six pack.

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

External cd drives are cheap.

We were the unwilling, led by the unqualified, to do the unnecessary, for the ungrateful.

There is no other way. By a CDRom or stick with XP.

If you are going to have both Windows and Linux on the same hard disk you are going to be a bit pushed. You could delete windows and just install Linux but you need a CD for that. To install Linux without a CD you are at some point going to have both Windows and Linux on the computer.

128 Mbs and a 20Gb hard disk is barely enough for windows alone.

You are going to run out of space

Got to admire your perseverance though. You're no defeatist, that's for sure. I would have consigned it to the skip months ago! I just wish you good luck in your search for a solution.
