i installed sopcast and my laptop went mad and wouldn't boot, i started in safe mode and removed it, but it wouldnt boot normally, so i tried again in safemode with command prompt and then tried to enable system restore that way, but it said it cant be enabled in safemode........any ideas???

If your intention is to enable system restore so you can restore to a state before you installed sopcast then it is not going to work.

System restore needs to be enabled before the event, not after. After is to late. If system restore was enabled you can restore to a previous date from Safe Mode,

What made you think Sopcast is the cause of . . . my laptop went mad and wouldn't boot.

According to Softpedia...

SopCast is a simple, free way to broadcast video and audio or watch the video and listen to radio on the Internet. Adopting P2P(Peer-to-Peer) technology, It is very efficient and easy to use.

OK, it won't boot but can you give a better explanation of:
"my laptop went mad"?

Are there any error messages or anything else which might give us a clue?

When you say you removed sopcast do you mean you did a proper uninstall of it?

I must admit I'm lost on this one right now but the more info we get the better the chances of ideas from someone.
