Specs: Windows Vista
Hello all. I have an older computer that will no longer detect DVD-RW's and thinks they are CD's. I am still able to Play DVD's in the drive. I am Using Nero to write the disks and have done so successfully prior to this problem. I am running XP as my OS. does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Go into Device manager & uninstall the Rom driver.

Reboot & test again.

There might be a program like nero or nero alone that some menu was selected. Look through it or use the wizard to make a dvd. It should change it to dvd.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
