Specs: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 , 1.5 GB
Hello every one,
I have LENOVO Lenovo 3000 G400 C-Notebook XXXX, Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (build 2600) installed, Nero StartSmart installed in it. I have DVD-RAM Drive installed in it.

My problem is that when I start for a CD the drives reads and writes finely, but in case of DVD it does not do the same, only the blue light in my laptop blinks for a while and then stops. I can not play a DVD thereon.

I have tried uninstalling the Optiarc DVD RW AD-7560A from the Device Manager. But it doesnot work out for me.
Please help me to sort out it.

The drive may be faulty. Two lasers are used in DVD-drives to provide two different wavelengths. One for CD & one for DVD. Sounds like the DVD-laser has failed.

Thanks for your reply I also think such. is there any process to rectify it rather than purchasing a new one.

You can't view DVD's with Nero StartSmart!
You need a DVD Viewer, Like CyberLink Power DVD or a free viewer from the internet.
