Dual Boot Failure, NTLDR is missing in Windows XP

I first installed WindowsXP on one drive (D) and then Ubuntu on another drive (C).
Grub2 opens up asking option either to boot in Ubuntu or Windows.Ubuntu 11.10 works perfectly.
Then I checked all the Windows XP system on the drive D from Ubuntu, everything is intact.
I reboot the system and select the second option to boot windows XP. The message says "NTLDR is missing, Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart" What should I do now. Please help.

That's an odd way of doing it. I would have installed XP on C, then while booted into Windows, popped in the Ubunutu disc, waited for the menu to come up, then used the WUBI installer to install Ubuntu to D by clicking on "install inside windows".

Anyhow, you're going to have to repair the master boot record.

Thanks Riider, but I am still doubtful whether I should go for fixing MBR like running fixmbr or fixboot, because I have seen from other forum that in DUAL BOOT SYSTEM, they will mess up everything.

I dont want to loose data in Windows XP.
