driver to my winxp sound card

Specs: Windows XP
i tried so many times to install the driver of the PCI sound card that i bought this morning, but still it doesn't work... its really giving me hard time... please i really need help....

What's the problem? If your system has onboard sound, the first thing you need to do is uninstall the sound drivers, then boot into the BIOS & disable the onboard sound. Then shutdown, install the PCI card & reboot. The new card should be auto-detected by XP. If generic drivers are available, XP will load can then upgrade the drivers by using the drivers disc that came with the card. Or if XP prompts for drivers, just pop in the disc & browse to the proper folder.

Actually, it's not 'required' that you disable the onboard adapter when adding a second audio card. It's possible to have multiple audio adapters. You can select which one to use at any time in the 'Control Panel' > 'Sounds and Audio Devices' > 'Audio tab'.
