Download and burn Avira Antivir Rescue System ISO.
http://dlpro.antivir.com/package/re...

This CD allows you to scan your system for viruses, without running windows. So if there is a virus in your system, it will not be started and can not hide itself from virus scanning.

Start your computer from this CD, update the Virus definition files, configure Avira on what to do, if a virus was found and start the scan process.

Constantly formatting & reinstalling Windows is no way to fix a problem. There are plenty of things that may be going on. Infection is just one of them. When is the last time you cleared out all your temp files & other internet garbage? Do you have a bunch of programs that load at startup & run in the background? How big is your hard drive & how much free space is available? Do you defrag regularly? Which anti-virus program do you have? How much RAM do you have? If it's less than 512MB, you should expect XP to run slowly.

There is an update button in the antivirus software, when you've started from the cd.
At the very first screen, you simply have to press the enter key, to boot the system.
