Does XP Sleep mode impact scheduled events?

Specs: Windows XP, 3 GHz / 1919 MB
Will scheduled events run while in sleep mode?
I use the native scheduler for a script file and the ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE scheduler for a image backup.
Also will the computer go back to sleep when its been idle for a preset time? Say it is in sleep mode and I check my email. Will it go back asleep automatically?

I think that for most scheduled events, the computer has to come out of sleep mode. You can set it to go into sleep mode after a preset time in Control Panel/Power Options.

If you go to control Panel > Schedule you can select a Schedule Tasks.

Select settings and there is an option there to wake the computer to run the task.

It is off by default so it wont run in Sleep mode unless you tell it to.

It will go back into sleep mode after the designated time if you have set it Power Options.
