dlls needed for kernel /bad cmos battery

Specs: Windows xp home edition
prior to being unable to boot with load needed dlls for kernel error message i was getting low battery warning (which i ignored for about 3 weeks) I cannot seem to get to bios info to make a copy of before removing battery. i can get to system info page which shows bios version=A09 (07/07/06) do ineed more info

You don't need any info of the bios for battery change. The default bios settings do work on more than 99 percent.
So simply change the battery, then turn on computer, enter the system bios, load factory default settings, save changes and reboot the machine.

ok new battery is in but same load needed dlls for kernel message. i tried to run chkdsk and it said the volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problems.

when i try to run repair thru xp home edition setup i donot get repair option. message says unknown disk (there is no disk in this drive) any ideas

When I get you right, the repair option in the windows xp home edition did not recognize your harddrive?

In that case, go to the manufacturers homepage and download a Drive Fitness Test to check your harddrive.

thank you im letting neighborhood shop instal new hard drive. they should have a better chance of saving some of my data.
