Display Driver Hiccup

April 14, 2011 at 08:41:59
Specs: Windows Server 2008, amd dual core / 4 gb
I'm reinstalling the xp os on an hp pavilion zd7000 notebook. All is well ... except, the display is at it's lowest 4-bit 600x400. The video adapter is nvidia geforce fx go5700. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it several times from different sources: hp, nvidia, microsoft, and os disc. When I uninstall it, the default vga drivers are ok (not great), but when I reinstall the nvidia drivers, it's terrible. I'm at a loss.

Swap with known good. Either display or adapter would be suspect.

Swap with know good eh? Well, external monitor displays the same but otherwise it's a notebook! Anyway, I disabled (not uninstalled) the driver and it is ok now. Thanks anyway.

No, I've never tried BeOS
