Diff PCs Same User Name

Microsoft Windows xp professional w/serv...

Specs: Windows XP SP3
At work, I've got a desktop and laptop. Log into our domain using same user name on each. Works fine until the password expires. When I change it on one, it won't work on the other. Usually, I got it fixed by having the tech come over and activating something in my Windows services - just what I can't remember. He has since left the firm and I'm stuck. I'm on call for next week and a half and need to be able to log-in from home via my laptop. Right now I can't even log-in to at work! Any ideas of what's wrong?

You might have to click the advanced button on the logon screen and choose the domain, you'd like to login to.

It seems to suggest a credentials issue. Almost need to start as domain admin to view current state of user.
Might be how your credentials move between servers.

Can't hurt to review domain settings.

Seems to me the issue is the local workstation password. It does not get updated on the machine not connected to the domain.

usual solution is you logon locally and change the password to the one you use for domain access. Reboot and then connect to the domain.

I've been choosing a work domain to login into. Tried to login into my PC but it won't take any password I give it. What is weird is that I can log in with the old password into the work domain.

sounds like a domain group policy. Check with your it dept.
