Desktop background & screensaver download

Specs: Windows XP, 256
where can i download desktop background and screen savers that are not associated with COOLWEBSEARCH as they have spyware and adware, any suggestions? thanks alot.

If you only have 256MB RAM, you shouldn't be adding any extra crap that will bog down your system. Stick with whatever Windows has to offer.

You can use any .jpg or .bmp file for a background, and the stock Windows screen savers.

Screensavers may be pretty but they hog resources. The more complex, the more they hog. I don't know if you have any special software for displaying photos/pictures but if you're using the standard MS Picture & fax viewer, you can right click on just about any picture & select "set as desktop background".

i have tried what you are saying about clicking anything but it does not fit the screen and if i use the stretch it is not clear like it should be, do u know what i mean?its like out of focus i guess or do have to adjust anything??thanks bama jam

A standard jpg will look stretched when viewed on a wide screen monitor. There are lots of websites to download widescreen desktop backgrounds. Just google for some.

thanks i got it figured out, what about desktop icons is there a place to download and change those?
