Dell Serious Standby Problem

Specs: Windows XP Home Edition, Intel Pentium 4 With 4 Gigabytes RAM
I have a Dell Optiplex GX270 with XP Home on it. So the shutdown, restart, and hibernate work fine. But yesterday, my standby went crazy. So the computer went into Standby Mode fine, but the problem is turning on the computer again. When I press the Power Button, everything turns on, but no screen shows up and the CD-ROM does something odd. So the CD read/write light flashes with the hard drive light in this same pattern; Flash, Wait 1 Second, Flash, Wait 1 Second...It never recovers, just does that pattern until I hold the power button to turn it off. Can anybody please tell me what is wrong with my computer???

The fix is simple - don't use hibernate or standby. Those are power saving features meant for laptops & other mobile devices, not desktops.

No, you misunderstood. Hibernate works fine, only standby has the problem of recovering. Even though your right, I could just avoid using standby, is there anyway I can fix it?
