Dell multimedia Keyboard problem

Specs: Windows XP
I am not able to use one of the keyboard buttons. The letter d doesn't seem to want to work. Has anyone got any idea what that is about? Thank you. I know little about computers but I am trying to learn.

Chances are, it's the keyboard that is the problem. The easiest way to test, is to borrow a keyboard, shut down, swap out, and start. If it works, the keyboard needs replacing, if it does not, try updating motherboard drivers.

Harpsichords, I agree with what Fingers sald. Keyboards are pretty cheaply made and failure's common.
One thing you might try first is cleaning. Odd as it sounds, run the KB thru a cycle in the dishwasher. Just be sure it's completely dry before you plug it back in. I've even gone so far as leaving it in a WARM oven overnight to make sure.

Thank you so much - I have never heard about putting a keyboard in a dishwasher - will give it a go and let you know. Once again, thanks heaps.

I propose to give it a good chance to dry, or you may see funny stuff.
