Dell D-610 in Manufacturing Model [level 67]

October 20, 2010 at 16:07:09
Specs: Windows XP, Intel Celeron/1GB RAM
I have a Dell Latitude D610 and all of a sudden it went into a black screen that says Manufacturing Mode [level67] and to press Fn+X to return.

Pressing Fn+X does nothing. Every couple of days I power it up and it's fine, but 9 times out of 10 it goes into the MM and not sure what's causing it?

Almost sounds like your keyboard is sticking on the OEM diag keystroke.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

Upon googling "Dell D610+Manufacturing Mode" it seems to be common and a motherboard issue?

I replaced the power board (that small board that's under the strip where power button is) for $10 from ebay and now it works fine!
