Only post logs when requested, thank you....

768MB Memory, I presume you have 1GB and 256MB is used by the on-board graphics.

Go to http://www.crucial.com and check for compatible memory upgrade.....

Was it fast when you bought it?

Did you change some settings in bios?

Does the correct amount of memory show it bios or windows system information?

Did you reinstall XP using the Dell recovery or did you install a retail version of XP (without the Dell crapware)? Did you update all the drivers, install SP3 (if not included), & run Windows Update?

In other words, you reinstalled all the Dell crapware. And since you didn't mention drivers or Windows Update, I'm guessing you didn't install them? That would mean everything is at least 6 yrs behind the times.

If it did work well when new and you did a recovery it should be as new. If not then what could change to affect it?

I guess it is possible that the cpu for some reason changed speeds.
Guess hard drive could be set wrong in bios or going bad.
Laptops usually don't let you change ram speeds.
Maybe a power setting?
