deleted files, now wont boot windows xp

Specs: Windows XP, Hitachi 30gb 4200 ide/ata slim-756 ram
got a used computer and was deleteing lots of files. on restart it wants the bios password. I enter it and and everything looks OK, window XP screen comes up and then when it goes blank like a normal start right before login screen it never comes up. It stays on and is comunicating something but thats it.
have a identical n610c with the same ide/ata hdd, olnly its a 40gb hitachi 4200. can I use it to remote boot somehow???

I am new at this, but i love it. I was wondering if I can clone the 40gb to the 30gb for a fix??? they are the same except for 40gb/3ogb. friend said it might make too many reg errors. also the last thing i did to it was a tip on virtual mem, and made changes in regedt32.

Sounds like you deleted a little too much. Do an XP repair as described above.

I got it. jst kept hitting F8 and finaly got back 2 a previous date on restore
