deleted files keep coming back

Specs: Windows XP
Whenever I delete a file in "my documents", it copies itself. "my documents" keeps growing and growing the more I delete.

I don't know what you are looking at. It could be that you are seeing links or shortcuts to a recycle bin.

Most unlikely, that he's looking into link of recycle.bin cause, when you delete in recycle.bin, files get's deleted irrevocably.

Not if he used a search for files.

He never said he deleted recycle bin files. He said he was looking at someplace but we can't say what.

When you click on a file when you have the CTRL key held down, if the cursor moves at all while you're doing that, you will create a copy of the file in the same folder. At first it's listed at the end of all the files in the folder so you may not notice it's there at first, but when you exit the folder and come back to it, all copies will be listed alphabetically by default, under Copy of....

When you have the CTRL key held, don't move the cursor at all while you're clicking on something.

I've done that un-intentionally myself, usually while clicking on many files individually in a folder.
