delete text in csv file

Specs: Windows XP, 256
hai every body!!!!!!!!

i have a csv file with follwoing output


Node ,Name, ServicePackMajorVersion
inetpc,Microsoft Windows XP Professional|C:\WINDOWS|\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1, 3


can u suggest how to delete the word C:\WINDOWS|\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1 through batch script////////

certteam, seems to me you should be able to C/P the file contents into your favorite word processor, make whatever edits you want, save and replace the file?

NO NO NO.
The last thing you should do is attack it with a Word Processor because a WP has formatting.

If you are going to do any editing at all then use "NotePad" because that is just a text editor. It can then be re-saved as a .csv. Make a copy of it before you start to be on the safe side.

Best to determine exactly what it is before you do anything. Maybe this will help:

Derek. Hmmm, I've done it a number of times using Wordpad with no problems. Possible Wordpad has no formatting while Word does? Don't doubt you, just confused.

The main thing is to avoid fully blown Word Processors which have a stack of formatting. Yeah, WordPad is not so bad but you can't go wrong with NotePad
because it is absolutely minimal.
