I accidentally formatted my local disk F which
had some games and music files. The OS is
on Local disk C. A few minutes later i was
trying to install Daemon tools lite( for Virtual
drive : gaming purpose). After the installation a
message popped up instructing me to re-start
the PC for the changes to be effected . I
restarted Windows. But since then the
computer is getting stuck up in a never ending
boot loop. i.e the BIOS screen..Help me
Out!!!!! :( :(edited by moderator: Post moved from General Hardware Forum to Windows XP Forum
You may have to re-format, and reinstall your OS. :(
Before reformatting, you could try repairing the boot record by booting up an XP CD(if you have one and if the cd drive is set to boot before the hd) and then go to the recovery console-run fixboot and fixmbr. If that doesn't work, you could also try a repair install.
How do you "accidentally" format a partition? You have to take several deliberate steps to do it & it usually ends with something like: "WARNING: ALL DATA ON THE DISK DRIVE F : WILL BE LOST! Proceed with Format?"
And how do you game on an XP system with just 256MB RAM?
Thanks @ above all. Well it is for an older version of Counter
Strike..:P.
