Specs: Windows XP, pentium D/double core 3ghz/2gb ram

I have Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS soundcard and every time I reformat my hard drive and update the software of the soundcard, the old version that was on the installation CD and the new version are both on my computer. For example, on the installation Cd I have Media Source 3.30.21 and the new updated version is 5.26.02. If I right-click on the speaker icon in the task bar and click Media source Player, it opens the 3.30.21 version. But if I go to a folder where I have music files and click a song, it opens with the Media Source Player 5.26.02. Why does it keep both? And how can I get rid of the old version? Also, both versions of MediaSource organizers are present on my computer. How can I uninstall the old version? Thank you very much for your time.(I do have the latest driver installed) I have a Dell XPS 600/Pentium D 3.00 ghz/2gb Ram/Bios version A11 and the chipset is Nvidianforce 4slix16.

First of all, why are you re-installing Windows so much?

When Windows is finding new hardware you can either point to the location of the driver files or abort any installation by tapping the Esc key. If that doesn't work then remove the card, install Windows and then install the Sound Blaster.

None of those are mentioned at the Creative site:

And I'd like to know why you're constantly reformatting & reinstalling too. Are you troubleshooting skills that bad?
