Specs: Windows XP, 352
Ok my mother in laws computer has a strange setup for the CPU. But any ways the plastic broke and now the CPU has no pressure and will not allow the computer to start up. Its a Compaq Presario SR1000 Mother board model number is MS-6577 V:4.1 and i need the black peice that allows these bracket peices to hold the heat sink down. Thanks

It may be that there are off the shelf parts or a new fan that would work. If the motherboard is broken it might be more difficult. If it is a compaq only deal then the part may be out there somewhere online. Try HP first. I guess a chunk of lead might hold it down as a Red Green solution.

Those brackets don't just break, they have to be broken.
