Please help! My antivirus deleted winlogon.exe so I cannot logon to windows. So, I'm trying to fix my computer via the recovery console on the xp boot cd. I tried simply copying the winlogon.ex_ file from the cd to my windows\system32 folder and then renaming it winlogon.exe. That didn't work. Does anybody know if I need to expand the file somehow before or after I copy it and how to do that? I feel like i'm so close to getting this thing fixed, but i'm using the wrong command or syntax.

The recovery console default is c:\windows I think. Do I type that expand command after c:\windows or do I somehow get a blank line and then start writing?
