Hello All,

I am a newbie but desperately need help. I am looking for a way to add a function to the right click options in file explorer. I want to be able to make a copy of the file highlighted, and append the date. for example, test.txt to test_20100817.txt. I do not have any programming software (such as .NET or Perl). I have looked everywhere and have found items that almost do that. Thank you for your support.

Thank you for your reply. I have checked those programs and none of them seem to do what I need. Any further ideas?

I currently use the FileMenu Tools and that will rename your file with the date, but does not accomplish the copy of the file with a new date.

The: How to Add Date and Time to a Filename with Windows Command Line.

explains how to do it for a specific example from the command prompt, but I am looking for a generic example from the right click options.
