Converting Powerpoint slides to video format

March 26, 2012 at 12:18:33
Specs: Windows XP
Having recently installed Roxio Creator 2012 for burning DVD movies/videos, I discovered to my surprise that this software cannot convert Powerpoint slides with extension ---.pps to video formats that could be burned to DVDs and played back on my VCR as movies. I “googled” this and found another package called iMovies that will accomplish this task, however, I don’t wish to invest in another video creation program, and, more importantly, would not wish to compromise the Roxio software with another competing program, which may give undesired results.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what you are asking, You stated that Roxio won't do it but you don't want to install other software that will.
You listed your operating system as Windows XP. iMovie will only run on Macs, iPods, iPhones & iPads, not on XP.

You also mentioned wanting to burn it as a DVD and playing it on a VCR. DVD's don't play in VCR's.

If you Google "Powerpoint to video", you will find lots of software to do what you are trying to accomplish. And you shouldn't have problems with it conflicting with Roxio.

I wasn't aware that iMovies did not run on Win XP - thanks, I'll continue to explore other packages thru google. Actually, my VCR box provides for DVD input, as well as the old VCRs for movie viewing, so I'm OK there.
