Specs: Windows xp, not sure
My computer got unplugged while it was on last night. since then when i turn it on it will get to the windows xp loading screen for about one second and then it goes to a blue screen for half a second and the computer restarts agian. It restarts over and over agian and it gives me the option to start in safemode, retry last known good or restart normaly. no matter what option i pick the same thing happens. I tried taking the cmos batery out and putting it back in, i checked my conections. Do i need to reinstal windows xp? i have the instal disk. is there a way to fix this without losing my data?

You should be able to do a repair install. Sometimes if the system has a more recent servicepack than the CD it will not let you do the repair. You would need to create a new install disc with the latest servicepack slipstreamed.

Seems some of the file got corrupt. the best way is to format them. that way u donot have to takeout the hdd.

there is alternate way..
take out your hdd and make it secondary Hdd on other computer and runof your disk c: partation.. that may be e: f: depends on how many partation does Primary has.
there is other way also if you donot have ideas of Hardwares,. download rescue disk like (kaspersky, Nod32, bitdefender) which is Bootable. Boot from that cd and Run above command..chkdsk /f
