Specs: Windows XP
Hey all,

So My Windows XP would only boot up in safe mode so I thought of doing a system restore.

I went into Bios and set the the computer to boot from the DVD drive since I have a restore dvd.

Now my computer won''t boot at all. I think my dvd drive is damaged because I keep hearing it spin but nothing happens. My screen is just black and cpu beepsonce then 5 beeps in a row. Im guessing its trying to boot from the dvd but cant.

I do have an external dvd reader if that helps.

I just wantt to get back into BIOS and boot set it to boot from my external reader. Any help is appreciated.

is my only option to purchase a internal dvd drive. cuz i already have an external so i dont want to buy one if theres another way to reset bios.

Did you mess around with the RAM sticks?
