Specs: Windows XP
Due to no ethernet card found? Avast detected a trojan from cyberblasterer and it put it in a quaranteen then my computer bombed. Now I can't get the reformat disk to work to fix my computer. I get a breif blue screen then it jumps to start in safemode or other modes. It won't start in any of them. So I hit F12, select cd and it tells me it can't find the ethernet card.

It sounds like your system is trying to boot from a LAN or network. Instead of using the F12 boot menu go directly into your BIOS (set-up) by using the correct key on boot......Del, F1 or F2 etc. Once in the BIOS search the screens for the boot order and select the first boot for CD and second boot for harddrive, save and exit. Then try booting to the CD and besure to watch for the prompt to boot from CD "Hit any Key"

Change Is Good
