Computer Program to Control Internet Speed

Specs: Windows XP
Hi Friend,

Is there a Computer Program that I can download and install to "ADJUST" my internet connection speed?

My goal is NOT to increase speed. But rather to give me the option to make it SLOWER sometimes.

The reason why I only have the option to "ADJUST" the internet speed is because I have to drive that person away from the computer "VERY SUBTLY".

He's my cousin who lives on in a different house, but he comes to our house everyday and use our computer, sometimes more than once a day. He doesn't have the word "SHY" in his vocabulary.

He could easily buy a new computer and internet connection because his income is
higher than mine. He used to have an internet connection and computer but he unsubscribed and sold his computer... and apparently his plan was to just use my computer everyday... to avoid paying his bills. What a shameless

I could tell him, "DON'T USE MY COMPUTER", but that would ruin our
relationship as cousins entirely.

What I was thinking is: if I could setup my computer so that when I'm away, I could control its internet connection using a computer program.

Thanks in advance. Fernan

Why do you want to be subtle? Your cousin is obviously taking advantage of your weakness! Show him what you wrote in this post and if he resent it, show him the door. If I were you I would take up some self-esteem course such as how to make myself more assertive. After all, life is too short. Live your own life.

Your perspective and advices are very much appreciated by

I imagine that you're a good guy who really wants to help out people and contribute massively.

However, I'm completely aware that the CONTEXT in this
website is about "COMPUTER-TECH-RELATED" stuff.

If we were on a different website which talks about SELF-
ESTEEM, I would gladly entertain your advice.

With that, I encourage someone who actually knows of a
COMPUTER PROGRAM that can do the feature I was looking
for = ADJUST INTERNET SPEED of my computer.

Thanks again XPUser. I know you're very good in

Grow a pair of balls, password protect your machine & in as nice a way as possible, tell your cousin to "buy his own computer & internet connection".

Hi Jam,

Thanks for your answer. You can make a good adviser in
the "PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT" forum. May be apply
there as an expert.

In my perspective, you probably did not understand my
response to XP User.

Let me make it clearer to you:

What I want to know is a computer program that will allow
me to adjust/control the internet connection speed of my

That's SPECIFICALLY what I'm looking for.

If you know of a program that can do that, let me know.

Otherwise, you're making yourself look immature by still
posting an answer which is NOT what the "ASKER" is looking

We could go on and on talking about things other than
computers. But I demand that you only stick with the
"computer stuff".

"I demand that you only stick with the
"computer stuff""

You can "demand" all you want, it ain't gonna happen.

"you're making yourself look immature"

No, you're making your own self look immature because you don't have the balls to "man up" to your cousin. He's taking advantage of you & instead of you telling him to his face to back off, you want to "sabotage" your own computer so that he won't come around so often? Yeah, that's really mature. Maybe your balls will plump up once you hit puberty. In the meantime, maybe your little sister can handle your cousin for you, but be sure to ask nicely wouldn't want to offend her too.
