Specs: Windows XP Pro, 3.00Ghz/512
Right where do I start I built a computer about a year ago most of the parts are from a old e-machines computer that I had but the motherboard was never fitted with them brass things, the motherboard was never fitted to anything but since I screwed the motherboard on it will not start, I have tried 3 PSU's and none work I don't have a multimeter to check if power is going through the motherboard but I have even tried useing a flat head screw driver to try and manually power the computer instead of useing the button but still no luck, I got a second of life when I connected the power cable before I even pressed the power button the fan spinned then stopped am just preying its not the Motherboard that needs replacing as I am skint!!!

Please help,

Jamie

"the motherboard was never fitted to anything but since I screwed the motherboard on it will not start"

Not sure what this means but it sounds like you have grounded the mother board to the case. Try putting something plastic under the mother board or get some spacers.

I mean them non conductive screw things because before the motherboard was just hanging by the VGA cable. But now it is not powering at all, I am scared it is the motherboard.
