Computer can't locate my TI-83 plus.

February 18, 2011 at 18:05:58
Specs: Windows XP
When I first plugged the calculator in via USB cable, my computer said "new device detected." however, I did not have the disk in my computer yet. I did something, I guess, to make it disappear. now i have installed TI-83 connect from the disk and my computer can no longer find the calculator. I have tried unplugging it and then plugging it in again and the computer makes that ding*ding sound that it does whenever a device is connected. but the calculator does not show up and the computer can't establish a link. any ideas?

ok, nevermind. i figured it out. here is what i did: I tried plugging it into a different USB port and the computer suddenly found a new device again. i loaded the cd when prompted. let the computer do the rest, doing what asked when prompted. This time it all went well, my computer finds the calculator now and the TI link works!
