I think you're asking about 2 entirely different things.

MB = megabyte

Mb = megabit

You wrote mb? 15 mbps is 15 Megabit per second (Mbit/s or Mb/s) which is a measure of speed/transfer rate.

But what about the 100 mb? Mb? or MB? MB is a measure of storage space, not speed.

EDIT: for speed, you need to have a time element involved. For example, 50 miles is distance, 50 miles per hour is speed.

Sounds like this is a homework question, isn't it?

"I rechecked, I was told the speed was 1-1.5 megabites vx. 15 mbps"

It's megaBYTES not megaBITES. And you're still comparing apples to oranges.

8 bits = 1 Byte
1024 Bytes = 1 KB
1024 KB = 1MB

Look again...is it 1.5 MB/s vs 15 Mb/s? I'll let you do the math.

HI there,

As far as my knowledge is concern internet speed is measured in mbps which is abbrivation of mega bits per second and when buying any internet connection they will say you will get 8mbps-20mbps. ( mega bits per second)

Now the term megabyte is used for defining storage like i have 500mb (mega byte) memoey card.

I hope its clear to you.
