Specs: Windows XP
I have a little .exe program that is running under dos that is periodically downloading data from a remote PC. I started the program at the command prompt. My command prompt window has disappeared but the program is still running.

I need to commnad prompt window if I want to send commands to check that everything is ok.

Is there a way of getting the command prompt window showing this program back??

Go to Task Manager and see if you see a CMD.EXE in it? If so then right click on it and End Process. Then open another Command Prompt and restart your app.

Not sure what the problem is can you be more descriptive?

Hi thanks for your reply. I think maybe I was a little unclear. I am trying to get the command prompt back up without shutting down the program and restarting as I would rather not lose any data. This has happened before. If you have any idea why the window is disappearing that would also be helpful.
