When I go into Device manager ,to check my Codecs , I see that they are all grayed out for the setting changes, does anyone know why this is and how I can fix it so that I can change the settings for my video codecs ?

why are we not getting email notifications anymore after the upgrade ?

What setting were you expecting to change?

Codecs are essentially drivers. They take the code from the audio/video file, decode it and send it to the audio/video device for processing. As such there are not settings that need to be changed, they either work or they don't.

If they don't work you find some that do. Either reinstall or download new ones.
If they do work you leave them alone because you cant fix sometime that isn't broke.

I wanted to set my divx codec to low compression to get better video quality, when I first installed all my video codecs I was able to change these settings ,but that was like 10 years ago.

why are we not getting email notifications anymore after the upgrade ?
