I have an Acer Aspire T160 and I recently bought the pc game Bioshock 2. I beleive my computer meets the system requirements, however, when I insert the disc into the drive, nothing loads. I have tried numerous "remedies" to no avail, ex. uninstalling/reinstalling the drive, performing driver updates, etc. When the disc is in the drive, upon checking "My Computer", according to the computer, there is nothing in it. What puzzles me the most is, the drive recognizes CD's when I am downloading music to my iTunes. Ive checked in device manager, and I dont see any yellow or red things next to anything. I've been back and forth on this issue with Acer support, and no dice. I am so desperate! HELP! Thanks!
Are you looking for the disk to auto load and start the installation on its own? That is an option you select for each optical drive. Try using Windows explorer to view the files on the disk and choose Setup.exe. That should start the installation process.
it doesnt even register that there is a disk.
If it doesn't even see the disc then you probably have a CD reader and it's a DVD disc
It says that it's a CD-DVD-RW drive on the drive itself.
