|I've never disassembled a CD player (thank you for giving|
me the idea!), but the CD must lift up a little bit, or it would
rub against the surface of the tray. It can't do that.
My computer's LG brand BluRay / DVD / CD player has a
tray that comes out. The tray is about 40% hole. The hole
is not circular, but U-shaped. The drive spindle must be at
the center of the hole when the tray goes in. So the tray
can go in and out without interfering with the spindle (or
vice-versa). So a disk might stay attached to the spindle
when the tray comes out. The disk would only need to
move upwards about twice its own thickness for the tray
to slide out under it.
I think we can mark this one "PLAUSIBLE".
