I'm running NAV 16.8.0.41, use Firefox usually as my browser; ccSvcHst.exe frequently uses 97-99% of my cpu at times. I suspect Norton is running some kind of background task, maybe a scan or a download, but I can't do much of anything while it's happening. Rebooting (even total shutdown) doesn't always help. Norton techs have told me to reset registry key Hkey_Current_User/Control_Panel/Desktop/AutoEndTasks REG_SZ to 1 but it's already there. In task manager I've found more than one instance of the ccSvcHst.exe file, and there are multiple copies on my computer.

There are stacks of hits in Google if you search "ccSvcHst.exe".
Norton has a real bad name for causing issues. Consider Microsoft Security Essentials (free), or Avast or AVG (both of which have respectable free versions).
