I recently had to completely start over due to virus..After doing a system recovery, I find that nothing will work that uses Microsoft Office (Real Player needs it?? For some reason!?)..But when i click on the place, it asks for #s from a CD...I don't HAVE a CD, it came on the computer! Is there a way I can get it going again??

It depends on what sort of recovery you did. What brand of PC
is it? Different companies use different systems, some recovery
is achieved using an image of the PC when you first got it, in
which case you should have all the software it came with, others
use a 'full' version of Windows which gives you the operating
system back, but no additional software - that would normally be
provided on a separate disk.

It's an HP, no separate disc..I did the restore from the computer, and ever since, my CD Rom won't go round! I can't install things!

I had the same problem with my Dell Laptop. I couldn't find my Dell CD anywhere.
Search for rockxp.exe or XPFindKey.rar included is officekey.exe which will reveal the key which the original Dell Recovery CD contains.

So now I backed up my total laptop with Ghost, which will save time loading anyways. Put Ghost on flash drive, or buy a new CDRom and use it.
