Solved Can't Uninstall Threatfire

Microsoft Excel 2003 (full)

Specs: Windows XP, 1.0Gb
I had a problem with Threatfire and used Control Panel Add/Remove to delete it. When I try to install a newer version of Threatfire, I get an error message that I can't install because the old version is still installed. I checked with All Programs and Threatfire is not listed. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

The progam may have its own uninstaller. If you still have the same version available then re-install to the same folder and then view the folder for an uninstaller.

If that won't work then download Ccleaner Slim from the link below and run the registry module to remove the orphan registry entries. I suggest you say yes when prompted to make a backup.

Ccleaner cleaner module is a very useful utility. I use it almost daily.

Dear OtheHill,

Thank you for your response. I do not have the old version so that is not an option. I downloaded Ccleaner and used the registry module but that did not work as I got the same error message as before: can not install new version because old version is still installed on the computer. Are there programs that will "uninstall" unneeded programs?
Thank you.

✔ Best Answer
Look in Program files and see if there is still a folder for the program. If so, delete it and run the registry module again.
