Why are you asking us? This is what you should be asking the folks at Office Depo.

Have no idea what "free range" is unless you are talking chickens/farm animals.

It also appears you are on a limited account. Take the unit back to Office Depo, explain your issues and they should be able to fix you up.

"or have time to search through".
But we have plenty of time?

Emails are tricky unless properly exported in the first place. This is one of many websites which might help:
Otherwise retrieving them is very convoluted and time consuming, without any guarantee of success.

Anything else of your own stuff should be on there somewhere. Taking it back to "office depot" is sound advice because they are the only people who might know where they've put them or what backup arrangements they have made.

Windows 7 is the latest version of Windows.

What do you expect when you take your computer to an office supply store?

As wander has stated, take it back there and make them bring up your emails.

Depending on what Office depot did your other personal files may or may not be present anymore.

Learn a lesson for the future.

If you have important files, DO NOT entrust them to others. Back them up yourself.
