I think, your system files which are needed to start Windows are deleted because it's infected, thus Windows cannot start.

You can try to repair Windows using Windows XP installation CD.

Detailed instructions are available here: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/opera...

Will it boot to safe mode or command prompt (tap F8 before windows starts to load and menu should come up). If so you might try doing a system restore.

How to do a system restore from command prompt:

We're glad you got it going. Thanks for posting back.

For future reference, unless you completely disabled the system restore feature, windows automatically creates restore points so even if you didn't create any on your own there may still have been some there you could have used.

Not sure what you're trying to do. Did you want to go back to XP? I guess your sp2 and sp3 disks are just the sp upgrade disks. You can't do a new install with them.

Do you have the COA sticker on your case with the xp product key? Or have the original product key written elsewhere? If so you could try borrowing an XP disk and use your product key. (Not all keys work with every disk but you may be able to work that out with miicrosoft but I'm not completely sure of that.) You could also check ebay for a disk and unused product key.

Could the hard drive have a restore partition on it? Or if it's a Dell, HP or something like that you may be able to order restore disks.

If you plan on keepiing windows 7 and just want the games to run, I'm thinking the game setup is starting but immediately an error is occurring and the setup shuts down. Maybe there's a compatibility problem between the games and windows 7.
