Hi Payton,

To be sure, can you check this?

Start -> Run -> inetcpl.cpl (hit enter)
This will open the window 'internet options' without your "hanging" browser.

Check your homepage and your settings on the tabs.

And if that wont give you positive results, try to restore your Internet Explorer settings to default.
That can be done with (again) : Start -> Run -> inetcpl.cpl (hit enter) -> tab: Advanced -> Restore settings to default.

Post the rusults.

Hi - thanks so much for your help...unfortunately neither worked for me. :-(
If you think of anything else, please let me know; I really would like to get IE operational again.

Thanks again

"I upgraded to IE 8. Thanks"

That is probably your problem...uninstall IE in add/remove and then it should revert back to IE7 which is fine. Then you'll have to download all the critical updates for that again and make sure to uncheck IE8 so it doesn't load up again.
I find IE8 on most xp machines is too crammed full of security that it stalls out, so that's why I revert things back to IE7

Thanks - I was, after much due diligence, able to remove IE8 (had to undue SP3 XP first). So now I can open IE.

Truly appreciate your help.
Payton
