Why don't you post all your system specs instead.

How do you know you can't? Did you get an on screen message? If so, post the exact message.

What type of WinXP CD are you using to install? Are you trying to perform an upgrade installation or format and a clean installation?

You will need at least 10 GB space on your harddisk, to install windows xp and programs like office software, antivirus software a.s.o.

This all will take up to 6 or 7 GB, but you need additional space for installing windows updates.

I suggest to use 15 GB partition on the harddisk to install Windows XP.

More common question is, how many RAM is installed to the computer.
If you have only 256 MB of RAM installed, forget it.
It will run, but just the boot up process will take 10 minutes or more and every program, you will start, will cause windows to swap parts of the operating system to the pagefile.

So you need at least 512 MB RAM to make it work practicable.
