Specs: Windows XP
When I try to boot my computer it won't go past the Windows XP screen. When the screen should be coming up for me to log in the screen goes black like the pc is not connected to the monitor and the lights on the keyboard go out.

I have run diagnostics and everything came back ok. I also tried running the repair disk for Windows and that didn't work.

Sounds like you are running an unsupported Screen Resolution. Use F8 on bootup to run in safe mode and reset you screen resolution to 800x600.

I started in Safe Mode and the resolution was set to 800 x 600. When I restarted I am still getting the same problem.

Sounds like it could be almost anything
1- Faulty Ram
2- Faulty MOB
3- Faulty HD.
4- Severe malware or viruses.

' I also tried running the repair disk for Windows and that didn't work'

How exactly did you do that? Did you follow these instructions?

These are probably out...

1- Faulty Ram
2- Faulty MOB
3- Faulty HD.

Because he was able to boot to safe mode. 4. Could be the problem but there could be a 5th problem which is a bad driver.

Have you recently installed something on your computer? When you boot to safe mode it does not load all the drivers so you have the chance to remove a faulty driver. You may want to uninstall anything you just recently installed.

Also do a virus scan for option 4.
