cant get out of log on loop

Specs: Windows XP
I have an HP Pavillion zd800 laptop, all of a sudden it gets to the logon screen, i press to logon (no password set) and it goes to the blank windows screen for a split second then says logging off, saving your settings, having read some posts here i have done a virus scan and a spy/mail scan by taking the hard drive out and connecting it to my test computer, ALSO to add insult to injury the same happens in safe mode, and my DVD drive has been disabled somehow. is there anyway I can cure this without a dvd or safe mode. I can connect the hard drive to another computer as a second master/slave not as primary.

DVD disabled? Look at bios and try live linux cd/dvd first maybe.

If fails then consider maybe usb cd/dvd drive might borrow one.

Might try usb flash either xp/vista/windows 7 or linux.

The problem with the other computer is you can't repair it as such. If you can boot to a live cd or usb then you might get to event logs or other reasons why it fails.

A linux usb or cd may allow data to be transferred off.
