can't get my windows xp cd to boot

January 30, 2012 at 07:45:44
Specs: Windows XP
I created a windows xp x64 bootable cd. It works fine on other pc-s. but on this one,i can't get it to boot. it always says,"insert sistem disc". it's like the b---tard can't read it,which is kinda funny, coz i created it on that pc. I think all options in bios are ok as well, boot priority and the rest. any advice how to install windows xp x64?

Sounds like your CD drive may be going out. Swap it with a working drive from another computer and see if it works.

Are you 100% sure the CD drive is listed before the HDD in the boot order? How old is the system you're working with? Does it have a 64-bit processor & over 4GB RAM? Considering the lack of driver support for XP x64 (among other things), why would you even want it?
